I have four weapon sets.

Fire 40/40
Water 40/40
Air 40/40
Earth 40/40

I only swap them if I use dual elements. Otherwise, I just click and leave it there. And I only bought those sets because there was really nothing else nice to craft straight from the weaponsmiths in the game.

I never had a reason to get too fancy in PvE as an Elementalist. This isn't PvP where the slightest bit of damage or enchantment lasting longer would make an incredible difference. Even for Hard Mode vanquishing, it just didn't matter since most of Hard Mode is done via patience than emptying your energy bar to deliver nukes to the nerfed degree. And to be honest, you don't even need a special weapon set to get through Hard Mode anywhere.

Now, on the note of farming, that's a different story where the +20% enchantments would make a considerable difference because each additional second can become vital to the build.

I much prefer a wand and offhand as as a staff.
